just a thought

My sister reminded me that I hadn't put any recent photos of the baby up, so here are a couple. Plus one of Joshua on the Fiery Furnace hike in Arches. And proud papa and grandpa on his blessing day, with a couple of uncles to boot.

I had a thought the other night. As a family we are reading in Helaman. Samuel the Lamanite tells the Nephites that they have 400 years until they will be destroyed, so they had better repent. Is that really a motivation? As a good person who cares for your descendants, would that be a motive for change? And do you think wicked people who aren't believing would care at all?
So maybe this isn't really a warning so much as documentation. We know from the seminary scripture Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
So even though I'm sure the vast majority of the people 400 years later had no idea they were fulfilling prophecy with their genocidal war, it was still documented that the Lord knew it was coming.
